About me:

Katharina Kroeber

I am an artist, writer and educator currently living in the Findhorn Foundation Community in the north east of Scotland. My main area of work in the community is within the Sacred Dance Department, providing classes and events in traditional and modern circle dance for workshops and community groups.

In my 15 years of dancing I have found that the dances always move us and our circle. They do so even more when there is a focus or intention for our dancing. My intention is to explore the cyclical patterns and interconnectedness of our web of life, dance our way home, dance circle dances as a path of prayer and healing, for ourselves, for each other, for our earth.

As an artist, I am interested in the language of pattern that underlies artistic expression: patterns of dance steps, knitting patterns, decoration of ceramics and textiles, flow of paper and colour. Many of these patterns have been passed on to us from early times and are part of our artistic, cultural and spiritual heritage. My interest is to draw out individual expression within these patterns, to continue the lineage into the present with fresh work that equally speaks of the maker/dancer and the ancestors.

Apart from circle dance, I work with wool, words and clay.

My certifications include a Certificate of Study from the Process Work Centre Portland OR, USA, a Masters degree specializing in the viewing of cultural and spiritual history through contemporary literature from the University of Hannover, Germany, and an accreditation as facilitator of the Transformation Game from Innerlinks, Findhorn, Scotland.
